I'll allow "pinning" as long as you pull up the post & pin from it for a direct link for others. :-)

2 weeks too early!

Look at what I woke up to this morning. The ground's warm, so I doubt it will stick around for long, but it's enough to make me say, "Waaaaaah!" (LOL) We usually don't get this till close to Halloween, so for this to happen 2 weeks early, makes me think we're gonna have a long, cold winter ahead of us. Good thing I have plenty of crafting supplies on hand to keep me at home & busy!

Have a great rest of your day!!

Been away too long

But I wanted to give the Fall Splendor blog party as much time at the top of my blog as I possibly could. Aren't those ladies are AMAZING?!? By the way, the woman behind the idea for this major collaboration is celebrating a birthday today ~~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTINE!!! Hope you have a fantastic day, Sweetie!!

Be sure to stop by her blog & wish her all the best. She and some of the Double Ds have made a really sweet kit in honor of the Wench's special day, called Mellow Twang - there are links to the other blogs from her site. Have fun - it's a pretty set, too!

I spent the last 2 weeks just going crazy ~~ we had DH's son from a previous marriage up from Texas for a visit at the first of this month for a few days. It was great to see him, because he's turning out to be such a fine young man, but the time was too short. There was a whisper of him possibly moving up here with his work, so we'll see what transpires...

I did manage to get some crafting done ~ I made a spa kit for my "new mommy" next door. If you've never seen my spa kits, they're really lots of fun. I take the 4-pack from Starbuck's Frappuccino (vanilla, mocha, peppermint mocha) after they're emptied, clean them up really well, then fill the bottles with bath time yummies ~~ one bottle holds Hershey's kisses in a few different flavors, one bottle contains bath salts, and the other 2 bottles hold foaming bath beads by Vaseline or Calgon. I then make some pretty covers for the lids, and laminate some of the fabulous papers that I've collected to wrap around the outsides of the boxes. I finish with some coordinating labels on the bottles, and VOILA! Instant giftie that has been getting rave reviews since I started making them last winter. Here, take a peek & lemme know whacha think...

Thanks for looking! Now I'm off to complete some siggy tags for a challenge & some recipe cards for a Christmas cookie/candy swap that are happening over at PC Crafter. I have a very dear friend with a birthday in the next week, I'm getting ready to host another swap of my own, AND I'm working on a "Bosses Day" order for some of the gals at school that has to deliver by the 15th (no school here Thursday & Friday for UEA). Lots to do, lots to do! I promise that I'll share pix just as soon as they're done.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

ATC swap

ATC stands for "artist trading card" ~ these are small ~ 2.5" x 3.5" and can be just about anything you can imagine. I recently hosted an ATC swap on one of the message boards that I belong to, giving them no rules ~ anything goes. The results were amazing!!

From Dixie

From Kathe

From Sharron

From Mary

From Charlene

From Maw

And finally, from me.

As you can see, each card is as lovely and unique as the lady that created it. I had a LOT of fun hosting my first swap & I've already got plans for the next one!

Thanks for looking & have a great rest of your day!

Made this last night

This is a sympathy card going to Sapulpa, Oklahoma to my Uncle Gary. My Aunt Paula passed away from complications caused by cancer on Saturday afternoon. My sister & I took her death very hard, because 1/3 to 1/2 of our happiest memories included this very special lady. She's not tied to us by blood, but by heartstrings (she was family by CHOICE, which made her more special) ~ there were times that she was more of a mother to us than our own ever was. She had 3 boys (just like I do) and was my first exposure to professional crafting. I remember helping her get ready for Christmas shows by sewing lace on quilted photo albums and baskets. She also made dolls. Every time I made a skirt, blouse, or dress she was the one that I went to for praise & critiques. We'd been separated by time, distance, and some dumb stunts by my mother, but over the last year, we'd been reconnecting & catching up. I'm really going to miss her...

Last sympathy cards from swap

I had 2 cards the last time I shared these that just did NOT want to come out properly. I finally got them to where you can see them. These are from a swap that I did at PC Crafter. Pretty, aren't they?

2 more days!

Till the Fall Splendor Blog Party! I thought I'd give ya one more peek at some samples that the artists have been working on for you throughout September.

On Wednesday, I'll provide you with a link to the "train" so you can get your ticket & start partaking of the digital yummies. PLEASE don't panic if some of the artists don't have their parts available right ON the 1st ~~ with everyone in different time zones around the world, that's practically impossible to coordinate to any degree of success ~~ I've been told that this will be open for downloads the entire month of October.

See you soon!
