I wanted to let you know that there is a small fundraiser going on over at Pink Cat Studios...one of our blogging/crafting buddies, Sarah Anderson (aka Sairabee over at SCS), just lost her 3 year old son, Henry, on Monday November 2nd, because he couldn't overcome a virus that made him ill. He loved the zoo, so they are raising money to plant a tree there in his name. Please go to PCS & purchase the digistamp...it's only $3.49 and all of the proceeds (minus PayPal's fees) will go to the planting of the tree. It's so worth it! Or, if you want to make a donation direct by printing & mailing in THIS FORM.
You can peek into Sarah's life HERE & Lorie is making sure her wishes are followed.
And what a good one to start back in with...yeah? Vicki has become a dear online friend over the last year & has challenged me personally a few times, so yesterday I thought I'd see what I could do with her SSHP05 challenge, "In so many words," over at Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential (there's a new challenge every Saturday so be sure to stop by often). Seems I'm just in time with this one:
I used an adorable digi stamp & sentiment from Darcie Header's CD "Britches and Bloomers" over at Sunshine Graphics. She has a really great package deal...I think I got all 5 CD collections for less than $20 & you get full color AND digistamp images to play with. I didn't want to do any embellishing on this one because of the coloring and the background paper already playing so nicely together...I figured I'd just let it stand on its own.
COPIC markers used: BG75, W3, BG72, BG10, Y08, W5, Y21, BG18, W1, W7, RV11, & YG03; Papers are from Making Memories "Gypsy" 6x6 pad; base is a white pre-made A2
So...how'd I do? Think I'm gonna go see what's going on at my COPIC marker challenge blogs now. Thanks for stopping by & have a great rest of your day!!
My back is protesting the last 3 weeks of packing, moving, unpacking, and organizing, so today I'm doing some cleaning here on the ole blog. Throughout today & over the next few days, you'll notice I'm changing my blogrolls, store listings, and moving blinkies about. Hopefully, it will de-clutter, but still make things that you enjoy stopping here for accessible.
Now, I'm off to the store for a baited trap. I think the cooler evenings have made a little furry friend decide to join us inside...hoping like crazy that I imagined the little black flash out of the corner of my eye twice so far, but something in my gut says, "Nope! You're on your game, Lady!" *LOL*
Thanks for stopping by & have a great rest of your day!!
I heard this song today on KLOVE (Inspirational Radio) & just fell head over heels IN LOVE! Great lyrics - simple, clean, and deep. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

What a day!! I had Chris home today, so I put him to work putting some 1-bys on the back of a 4ft piece of pegboard for my she-cave. He held it while I leveled it & screwed it into the wall. I also managed to hang 3 more shelves (only 2 left to put up) & get some more things organized and put away. Looks really good. My lower back is protesting, LOUDLY (okay, it's screaming at me!), so I'm calling it a night.
Before I go, though, I want to show you what I made for Keepin It Simple Sunday. I dug through a few boxes earlier today, found my A2 pre-made card bases, some K&Co autumn mats, Copper Stickles, some South Pacific Prima Flowers, rhinestone brads, and my R39 (Garnet) COPIC marker.
Ended up making TWO CARDS, just so I could de-stress a bit. Here's the first one: I layered 3 sizes of Prima flowers together & secured them with the rhinestone brad. Colored the brad with the Garnet COPIC marker, and glued it down to the paper. And now, the second one: Striped K&Co paper, two Prima flowers, copper Stickles for the centers. I really love these colors together - raspberry, green, wheat, & copper. They just WORK, don't they?
Thanks for stopping by & have a great rest of your day!!
Morning! No crafts to share just yet, but I thought you'd like to have a peek at what has been keeping me away from my "therapy." I'll show off the she-cave again when it's all dolled up.
I'm STILL emptying boxes...did 7 last night & no sign of carpet yet! But I'm getting there...I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's just really faint. It's like I told my girlfriend, Linners, down in Georgia ~~ it's like eating an elephant...just taking one bite at a time. *ROFL* I open one box & stay with it till it's empty - putting away, tossing out, or filing.
Well, break's over, so I'd better get back to it! Thanks for stopping by & have a great rest of your day!!
Yup! That's me today, even though I'm still unpacking. I thought I'd share one of my favorite Nina Simone songs, performed by John Barrowman back in 2006. John is best known for his role as Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who & Torchwood. The man has a fine tenor...enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great rest of your day!!
